10U Defeats NW Washington DC to Claim Stars and Strikes

Congratulations to the 10U Division of the DC KNIGHTS as they defeated Washington DC's RBI (9-8) and NorthWest (15-4) 10U teams in route to becoming the 2011 Stars and Strikes Champions. Congratulations DC KNIGHTS!!!

DC KNIGHTS PHILOSOPHY

DC Knights mission is to promote minority youth baseball players in the Washington,

DC metropolitan area. DC Knights embraces the belief that baseball will instill the discipline and

commitment that youth need to realize their self worth, athletic potential and educational aspirations. DC

Knights works in partnership with other organizations as well as with colleges and universities along the

eastern seaboard, to give youth a glimpse into the world of college and college athletics. This year as in

years past DC Knights will endeavor to take as many youth as possible to participate in various college

tours and also major baseball tournaments along the way.

Each year DC Knights goal is to take as many teams ranging from 12U to 19U to the

Metropolitan Junior Baseball League (MJBL) Inner City Classic. The Classic is hosted by the City

of Greensboro, North Carolina in conjunction with North Carolina A & T University, North Carolina

Central University, The University of North Carolina Greensboro, and Shaw University. Our players

have an opportunity to both play and display their talents before a number of professional and college

coaches and scouts. For some of our players having the opportunity to participate in the MJBL Inner

City Classic is once in a lifetime experience that will never be forgotten. Our lasting hope is that the

experience will inspire the players to consider furthering their post-secondary educational goals at one of

the participating colleges or universities.

What is DC Knights? It’s a player development organization. Our philosophy is to make your player better than they were when they came to us. We focus on teaching the finer details of the game. Baseball is broken down into three major components defense, pitching and hitting. These three components properly executed determines whether a team is average or above average. We are striving to develop above average players. It’s a process, it takes time and commitment.

We are a select/travel team in the sense of the word. The difference is our vision is to improve your community team without depleting their talent pool. In other words we want you to go back to your community teams and make them better as oppose to leaving for greener pastures. We want our players to be the best player on their community team. Our hope is their improved skills will ignite the community players to commit to improving their individual skills. Therefore the community program benefits. Your commitment to us starts after your community obligation.
